A central task in projects involving a portal is the maintenance of information and its user-specific delivery via the portal. In addition to data from back-end systems (such as CRM and SCM), it is also beneficial to display personalised content, such as content from the intranet.
This type of content is generally created and maintained using a content management system (such as RedDot). However, most portals require a significant development effort to deliver personalised content.
The RedDot Portlet integrates dynamic, personalised content in the IBM WebSphere Portal. It enables portal users to display user-specific content from the enterprise intranet, for example in their personalised portal views, in addition to application data from various sources. Furthermore, editors are able to edit content directly from the portal. They can make changes to complex personalisation data as well as to content in just a few clicks and no technical expertise is required.
